«World’s most joyful museum for children»
After reading a few articles from the magazine, I decided that I want to tell you about the news that would have delighted all the children. Due to the fact that we have talked about all the museums in London recently, I am sure it would be interesting to learn a little fresh information about one of them.
The article which I have read was written by Mark Brown, and it is devoted to the extension of the Museum of Childhood.
«As well as having fun, play is how children discover the world around them, develop their creativity, learn new skills, and grow in confidence into rounded adults» said Anne Longfield, the children’s commissioner for England.
Thus, the reconstruction is aimed to make the Museum more interesting and entertaining for its young visitors. The changes would be finished by 2022 – marking the 150th anniversary of a building that first opened as the Bethnal Green Museum. According to the idea there will be a re-landscaped outdoor play area and the “Kaleidoscope”, an interactive installation in the main galleries inspired by the V&A’s collection of optical toys.
The creators hope that the redeveloped Museum will instill in children a love for new knowledge.

ОтветитьУдалитьI've read your post in the morning before going to work, so this is just a quick note. I was really interested in learning about this museum and thought it would be wonderful to visit it even though I'm not a child anymore. However, just last year I visited an exhibition in Moscow devoted to Lewis Carroll. What I liked about it was that it helped me to return to my own childhood even if briefly. It was a wonderful experience.
